dguimo (Jacquie) asked to see some of my bobbin lace that I have made, so here are some pictures.

This is a doily I made (the edging is bobbon lace):

This was my first major project. It is a sampler of various "spiders" and fillings.

Jeannie63 - I read an article many years ago about the "lost arts" and bobbin lace was included in the list. I have a book with instructions and, while it doesn't look too complicated, it does look time consuming. It's one of those things I have always wanted to do, but just haven't taken the time to try.

Your pieces are beautiful!

Jasmerr, how far are you from Reedsburg? Looks to me like maybe 45 min. to an hour? I am Jeannie63's sister and she has also taught me bobbin lace. I am not as practiced as she is. I do more tatting and have not done really much of either in the past year. It would be kinda neat if we could all 3 get together some time for a begining lesson!! She could refresh me a little too!! :) Of course I am typing this as I think it and not talked to her at all! ; )

Jacquie I am glad you liked them!

Thank you all for your compliments and interest. I find doing bobbin lace very relaxing. I have been talking to sjweld about getting together with jasmerr to do a little teaching!

PPG, things like the little bunny take only an hour or so. I think the picture frame took me about 10 hours, and of course the sampler took quite a long time!

Oh absolutely kooger! So far we have one person in Merrimac, one in Reedsburg, one in Mequon, and now you in Cedar Grove. We would have to decide which place is more central. You could always meet me in Mequon, then we would drive over to someplace closer to Sheri and jasmerr. Or we could make them drive here! LOL

I have plenty of supplies, so I could loan stuff out to you and jasmerr until you decide that you like it enough to make/buy your own supplies.
