Just thought I would add my 2 cents . I see lots of questions about stoves, fans and even fuel but one of the most impotant things you can have is a thermometer. It will tell you whats going on behind the skin of your stovepipe. If under normal operation the chimney is running cold, that could be a sign that you have blockage, Not a good thing as this is how most housefires are caused when the creosote catches on fire . Creosote blockage usually happens over time but it can also happen within minutes if the wrong piece of fuel is introduced into the firebox. Educate yourself as to what type of wood you should use. If under normal operation your chimney is running very hot, this could be a sign that there is an air leak somewhere. you will eventually find this out anyway as the room should heat up too much. The thermometer will give you a heads up faster so you can correct the problem sooner. One such thermometer is a Chimgard Thermometer. You can find more on them at [HYPERLINK@www.cabinspin.com]
