Here is a question for the bamboo experts. I have Bambusa lako growing in my yard. This past summer it put out 4 culms that were about 2-3 inches in diameter. I might be moving soon and would like to take it or a piece of it with me. How is it best to do this? Should I try to dig up the whole thing, the stand is about 3 feet in diameter, or just dig up and cut off one or two culms? What do I need to do, or watch out for when I do this and is there a better time of year to do it?
Sorry for all of the questions, but as many of you know a large lako is expensive and I don't want to leave it behind or kill it either.
Thanks for any help.
Lonny
Here is a pic of it before it sent out the new culms. It is growing next to a stand of regular black bamboo, P. nigra.
