thanks--i think this is the plant i bought that said to grow in sun but with roots in shade? kind of tricky i thought--it did very little but was planted late in summer and from a not so great start--now i see the new ones for sale at lowes and might try again--i liked the thought of growing it with the roses--must be pretty together

Thanks, Paul. I don't have clematis in my 'new' garden but plan to rectify that soon. Saving your article for information!

WE LIVE AT 7000' ALTITUDE INDICATED TO US THAT WE CANNOT GROW CLEMATIS HERE, BUT HAVE THREE PLANTS ON WEST SIDE OF FENCE AND BLOOM EVERY YEAR. MAYBE NOT AS MANY BLOOMS AS LOWER ELEVATION BUT STILL HAVE BLOOMS. ANY INFO FOR HELP AT THIS ELEVATION GREATLY APPRECIATED.
