Hi,
I think my computer is all better now, so I am posting another sample of my pressed flower art. This one is of a swan boat in the Boston Public Gardens.
Hope you like it!

Kawonkamish(Greetings),

That is lovely. How long does it take you to make a "flower painting"?

Wow, I love your pressed flower art! Do you use ink or paint for emphasis or is everything plant material?

Thanks! The time varies. This one took several days to cut and glue the pressed flowers and leaves, a lot longer to press everything and figure out what to use.
I usually work for a while, stop and stare, then continue. By the way, I am north of you in Peabody, MA!

Thanks Beth,
Everything is pressed plant material-flowers, leaves, and bark. Have you ever pressed flowers? It is so much fun to do!

Hi Beth,
There are many books that are available online (check out amazon or ebay for good prices). There are also a number of sites on-line and even discussion groups on line. Search for pressed flowers and you will see many sites that you can explore at your leisure. You can even purchase pressed flowers on line if you can't wait for spring and summer! There are many presses available but why not start simple with a few phonebooks with weights on top. You can put the flowers/leaves between sheets of Viva paper towels in a phone book and add some heavy books on top to flatten everything. In 3-6 weeks, presto! you have pressed flowers to play with! Let me know how it goes!

I might have to get a press, jpressed! I live out in the country and our phone book is very small - LOL.
