Equilibrium,
This photo and these other three photos you have on this page:
http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/showimage/182077/
http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/showimage/182078/
http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/showimage/182079/
Are indeed "Paper Spined Cholla", but there is a separate page for this variety known as "Tephrocactus articulatus var. papyracanthus", located here: http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/69722/

Would you like to have these 4 photos moved to the right page?

Equilibrium, do you have any thoughts on this? I'd be happy to move the photos to the correct entry if needed.

Equilibrium, I'm bringing this back up one more time. Do you agree to moving the photos, or do you disagree with the move?

I can't agree or disagree so will defer to Xenomorf's identification of Tephrocactus articulatus var. papyracanthus. Please do move all the photos to the correct entry.

I found the plants absolutely fascinating. They looked like an alien life form sprawled out on the ground. I took quite a few photos of those plants because they were mesmerizing and I thought others might find them equally bizarre. The plant tags from the Botanical Garden associated with the plant stated it was Tephrocactus articulata. Botanical Gardens make lots of mistakes.

editing to add-
Have changed all the captions to Xenomorf's identification on all four images.
