My son brought home a cabbage seedling provided by a visiting plant company to his school. The child that can grow the largest cabbage wins money. My son is nine and insists they said the winner would win a thousand dollars...did i mention he is nine. I'm not sure he's correct about the amount of cash he'll win, but the entire family is now involved in growing the biggest cabbage we can!
One small problem, I've only grown cabbage once before and that was years ago. Any tips or advice anyone can offer?
Since cabbage is a leaf, would high amounts of Nitrogen be in order. I have a bed amended with chicken manure in full sun, is this the best spot for it? Or would a pot be better?
