Its a new one by golly. But then the three for the little bathroom windows will be new too, and the three four by two foot ones for the 'colonnade' infill too. My gosh, there's new stuff in the works all over the place. Looks like I may really need to take out that wall and add another six feet to the glass shed to accommodate a bigger worktable. Could it be Anita's super four by eight 'flip-top' table that she mentioned she might, maybe, possibly consider selling ??? OOH ! just think of it, you have a veeery large piece on the bench, all soldered up on one side, and have to turn it over without damaging it. Now you place a removable sheet of plywood on top of it, release the locking pins, spin it over (carefully) and lock the pins again then remove the other sheet of plywood and the piece is ready to finish soldering. Flipped over without ever leaving the table. I'm agog, thrilled and amazed. I do hope she will consider selling it. Maybe I'll remove the wall anyway, just for giggles. Well here's the start of the new window. I think it will be a good one.

Going to be outstanding...I'm just starting this morning a hanging for front window...had to get new diamond bit saw blade and new belt..wow no money left for glass..lol..

Trying to use up scraps, did purchase a piece for the base and it's 1/2 sq. and it cost me $18.00..not a cheap hobby...but do enjoy..

Will check by from time to time .. always enjoy looking at your art...

Is it worth the cost ? I really can't say. Like the ring saw, I don't use it enough to "make it pay", but still find them very useful. Being a tool junkie I acted on impulse rather than need or common sense. When I become proficient with the cutter (whose name I have momentarily forgotten) I think it will be a very useful addition.

I did cut a couple more pieces and will soon start on the squares again, then the roses, then it might be almost done. Then what? Something new of course.

Just love 'contraptions' lol..just might have to ask for it...love the piece you are doing..is it for you or is it commisioned?

I'd have to suggest 'asking for it'. Life is too short to do without. The piece is sort of an noncommissioned -commission-gift-keep busy sort of thing, if that makes sense to someone other than me.

Sure does, I'm doing a piece right now, very structured but I've purchased many of the pieces I need as well as going through my drawers for old chains and jewelery to make something modern..my house if very country but I sure like the look of your work and hope to do similar ..could always hang it outside on back deck and enjoy...

Many of the smaller 'scrap glass' pieces are hanging in a friends woods. (scares away the boogie-man) The larger one(s) will hang in the garden arbors. You know, it is a matter of just being able to create something. Nobody says it has to be good or functional, it merely has to be what you feel; at the time. I'm eagerly awaiting to see the next piece from you.

More glass set in today. Friday, Saturday and Sunday I get to go to a glass painting class taught by Peter McGrain. That painting is the coolest thing I've seen in a long time. Hope it is something I can take advantage of. Might have to buy a kiln though. Oops

Isn't that the way it goes Betty. Seems like shortly after we get rid of something we "never use" the need for it arises. I'd love to have a small kiln (bigger would be better) but would have trouble finding justification for it other than " I want that".

Don't forget to post pictures of the piece in progress and installed. Stained glass in the garden is really cool.

After a couple weeks of having the glass room wall torn out and 'bumped out' things are back as 'normal' as I can lay claim to, which isn't much. The new repository for the grinder and saw functions beautifully and gives me the added floorspace I needed, though more would be nice. Yesterday and today I did manage to get a lot of glass stuck in and can see it all being cut, fit and ready for solder tomorrow. I am pleased with the way the ground has turned out, letting light through and giving off that little bit of iridescence.Hope to do the final sizing next week and get the show on the road.

The rondell turned out well. It was "on hand", but I'd rather have had one of the fantastic ones a glass blower on Camano Island makes, but they weren't available at the time.

Oh my gosh that is turning out awesome!!! Have you gotten that installed yet? I would love to see it up.

I re-read your first thread...that table sounds heavenly!!!! What a creative idea to be able to flip a large piece that way!!!!
