ECHINACEA ‘GREEN JEWEL’ PPAF

Looking for something new and exciting to add to your garden? Echinacea ‘ Green Jewel’ PPAF will do just that. This is a new sweetly fragrant cultivar that was discovered by Piet Oudolf.

Green Jewel is a Coneflower that has a double row of light green petal rays, that surround a huge green cone in the center. It stands about 18”-24” tall and is about 12”-18” wide with a bloom ranging between 31/2” to 41/2”.

This plant does well through drought, humidity, poor soils and the cold once established with proper care.

Coneflowers prefer full sun and like to be watered when dry, but do not like wet or soggy roots. With regular deadheading they will continue to bloom all summer until frost.

During the warm months, these plants are beneficial for the butterflies in your yard and gardens. During the winter, those blooms not deadheaded will provide seed for several types of small birds to feed upon. Stalks of the coneflower can also be harvested and dried for fall and winter arrangements.

You are purchasing on one Elle plug 50mm size ( formerly known as the 21/2” pot.) Elle pots allow your plants to grow and yet are biodegradable for the environment. Transplanted into a 10” pot or one gallon container will finish off in about 6-8 weeks.

The following below is a list of available Echinacea that are being offered as #1 grade bare-root. These are plants that were planted out in the field for at least a year.

ECHINACEA ‘FRAGRANT ANGEL’ PP1605

Fragrant Angel is said to be the most fragrant of all the Echinacea’s so far.

It has blooms that are 4” to 5” in width, with a double row of white petals that are surrounded by a large orange cone. The plants reach heights of 30” and are about 24” wide. The stems are sturdy which makes them good for using as cut flowers too. Like above the plants are good for butterflies and birds. plants Zones 3-8.

ECHINACEA ‘HOPE’ PP17194

The name Echinacea means “ healing” and that is why this plant was named “Hope” in part. An employee of Walter’s Gardens had breast cancer and the company teamed up with Terra Nova to use this plant to help find a “Cure”. A small donation was made to the Susan G. Komen foundation when I purchased these plants. By growing this plant you grow a litle bit of ‘hope’ too.
The blooms are the color of pink which is the signature color of breast cancer research. Besides having big blooms it is also fragrant. It measures about 30” by 24”. Zone 3-8.

ECHINACEA ‘PINK DOUBLE DELIGHT’ PPAF

A real stunner in the garden is this one. Pink Double Delight is a delight all season long. It has an over-sized pink center cone that has lighter pink petals surrounding it. It too, reaches heights of about 30” by 24” and is a butterfly magnet.
