Katie, I just stumbled across this old thread of yours and wanted to thank you for posting the link. I was such fun to watch. We have a pile of pretty big boulders to move into place when we build our pond. Not sure his techniques will work for us but I sure did enjoy watching it.
I had my husband Ric watch it this morning I knew he would get a kick out of it. Ric is very good at moving heavy things as well, quite often with what ever is handy. Late one night down in the Keys with a heavily laden boat, a flat tire and no jack. He had that thing up on cinder-blocks found along side the road and fixed in no time. We have quite a bit of stone work walkways and walls all brought home and put into place with his skills. These pond rocks will definitely be a challenge for him. I told him we might have to get some equipment in. He says he can move them, but there is a big difference between moving them and placing them in a pond without tearing up the liner. LOL
Here is a picture of our rocks with my son and grandson to give them a little perspective.
That is quite a task - good luck. You should do a thread showing your progress. I'll be a lot of people could benefit from Ric's expertise and experience. Let me know if you do.
And can I borrow Ric when you're done with him? I have a few boulders I'd love to have moved. ;-)
LOL, He comes in real handy.
I was hoping to get the pond started this year but we have been very busy with some other projects that needed to be done first. The pond is still on hold but I have high hopes for next year.
