Does it freeze back in the winter?

Normally not around here but this year it did because my husband forgot to turn the sprinkler off and it got down to 26 degrees. Looked like a winter wonderland out there. It is already starting to come back though. I have it in shade under an oak tree with dappled sunshine.

Thanks for the information. I have had the dwar kind in a hanging basket and would love to plant your type in the ground. I saw it growing in Maui in containers.
