You can plant the Brassica Family plants in early fall ( late Sept.) & don`t have to worry much
about the Cabbage worm or grass either. Plant as early as possible so the roots can
establish themselves before the winter weather. They Cabbage will be ready in January!
That's true, Passifly. I overwintered a broccoli plant a few years ago and not only was it delicious, it was untouched by pests. I'm not sure if cauliflower would make it through our winters, but I know cabbage would probably do fine if planted in the fall and harvested in January.
