Does anyone know if I can build a raised bed near a river birch - roughly 5-8' away from actual tree. Someone told me they thought there might be a problem with covering the roots up or even planting in the "root zone". There are no above ground roots in this area. What is the root zone for a river birch? Can I plan a raised bed in this area? Any shared knowledge appreciated!
Em.
