I posted this in a different thread because its so important (at least I think so) I was reading Critter's suggestions on germinating pepper seeds and saw a line that really caught my attn.
The starter soils are supposed to be sterilized. I wasn't sure if they were or not. Hey, I'm new at this.
ANYWAY, my first thought was the manufacturers know we're starting seed in these soils so they're probably sterile.
My second thought was Gee, I wonder if they're sterile. Unsure, I did both.
In reading what Critter wrote, the starter soil can be sterilized in the microwave oven for 12 minutes. Sure is a small time investment for success, huh?

if your soil is pure from seeds you dont like or not
you talked about using hot tempture to get rid of that
seeds but I have seen seeds dont vanish even in fire

Actually, I don't believe it really matters. I start seed with dirt that comes from my yard every year, just dug some up, put it in a pot with seeds, water it and voila! Germination. Sterilized soil is not as important as some would have you believe.
