This one is for my sisters b-day. (Oh, I hope she doesn't log-on & see it, ha).
It is a quilt block pattern. I'm cant decide what to use in the rest of the space though.
This was all scrap & now I'm out of big enough pieces. It's 9x9 edge to edge.

I thought about yellow, but I dont have any to look at!
My other problem is tools! I dont have a grinder or iron. So I'll be making trips to the store/shop. Bummer! But I didnt take the class to quit doing SG.
I have scrap but it all clashes with the blue. It may look awful when I get it done, but I dont want it to look like I threw it together without thinking about it. My sister is a very good artist, watercolors are her thing!

I didnt get the artist gene:( I've been designing my own! ha. I'll take pic's of my progress. You'll understand what I mean soon.

Not very much. I've bought 2 flats of scrap so far. I get sticker shock when I look at the new glass.
I want it to be clear colored glass. I dont care for the solids or iridescents. So far its just blue water glass & glue chip. I really like glue chip, but I found out they dont make it in colors any more:(
I'm going to look for a different shade of blue, and maybe some yellow. (thanx Beth)
Or clear with just a little bit of color. I dont want anything to compete with the blue.
There are so many options with this pattern. The med. triangles could be the same color or the 2 going in each direction would be 4 colors. The 4 lg. triangles will probably be the same color. And the 4 squares would be good in yellow. I would like that clear with the confetti in it.
Thanx for your input:)

Hi there. Great pattern. Why don't you try using a clear texture with straight lines. The lines could go in different directions. Go Delphi.com and look at their clear textures. There are some great choices!

Thanx for the link. I just finished wandering around over there. They are having a sale, and I found a bunch of stuff I want! Naturally:)
I only have 4 projects in the works, and 4 more (at least) in my head pounding to get out!
Unfortunately my cash flow ground to a stop a few weeks ago. So now I'm actually trying to use my new hobby to jump start the flow again. I cant get far until the weather gets good though.
I know I'm kind of off topic, but for me the topic is lack of funds:(

Thanx again, I will post the progress's I make.

I like your glue chip idea...it may not have a color but you could add one!!! Do a color wash on it...take whatever color paint you want and paint it on the textured side of the glue then take a cloth and wipe off the paint. It will just leave paint in some of the crevasses, we do this to make fake van gogh glass sometimes, but then we use more than one color. It can make a really pretty glass.

I like your pattern and lm looking forward to see how it comes out!!!

Lora, colored glue chip is still being made, just taken over by a different manufacturer. Should be on the market before long, if it isn't already.

Wow, thanks to both of you. Awesome idea about the paint. Yellow glue-chip:) 2 birds with 1 dragon tear, hehe.
And I'm really happy about the glue-chip too. I hope it will be available here. I saw info somewhere about making glue-chip yourself. Something about a kit that comes with an animal product!
You both made me feel better☺

Someone told me that to make glue chip you paint hot animal glue on a sheet of glass and when it cools it makes the surface crinkle.

I read somewhere that you can use white glue, and heat it in your oven - not sure how that would smell!

I have some exciting news guys. I found a lady selling her supplies on craigslist. We got a grinder, iron, glass and even 3 pattern books for $90.
And I'm a happy SG'er on DG!

Getting closer to those projects:)

I'm finally able to go play balvenie!☺ Some of that *new* glass is going into my quilt block. We managed to set up a pretty good shop bench. I'll take a pic if I get enough done to show.
chickeemama, it is great! I still cant believe my luck. Happyhappyjoyjoy, AND Spring is on the way!
