Interesting that they drop their wings! Why, do they only fly once, or do they just regrow them? Luckily, we live in the middle of the woods, so they have plenty to eat out there...our house has cedar siding, so I hope they don't eat cedar!

The reproducers only fly once. If they don't find a place to set up a new colony with moisture & wood, they die. So most or all of the flying termites will die. It is actually a neat thing to see when they come zooming out of the ground, plus if birds see them, they go nuts trying to catch them.
