Well, I'll start with I'm in zone 9, and thanks to some serious babying, my dad has successfully grown peonies at his house for the past 10 years...yes...right here in the middle of Phoenix, Az. Anyway...my parents are having to move, and dad refuses to leave the peonies behind, lol...so I've prepared a bed for them, very similar location to what he's got them in (he's about a mile away from me), lots of organic compost, etc...
I just need a little transplanting advice for them. They're already up several inches and beginning to leaf out. I was thinking it might be smartest to dig up as much of the root ball mass as possible and keep it in-tact...and then water them in with superthrive? I wouldn't normally want to move them right now since they're obviously not dormant, but we don't have a choice...
So...recommendations?
Thanks! Kim
