I previously collected african Voilets, but lost them when i went on vacation one year, it seems too much dry is just as bad as too much wet. Will definately try again after getting this information. Thank you

You're right... a little benign neglect can be a good thing, but if mine go much more than a week without water, I know I could lose some of them, especially the miniatures. Wick watering or the other constant watering methods will definitely let you leave them unattended for a while... but if you can, it's best to set up your system ahead of time so you know just how long they can go without needing something from you. Filling reservoir trays is a pretty easy thing to ask a neighbor to do, and much more mistake-proof than hoping they don't overwater or underwater your plants.
