Okay, I'll admit it, I've NEVER spring cleaned. Spring and garden go together, spring and clean do not. This year I'm trying to reform, as long as it keeps raining I'm going to clean. Where do I start? I have all the stuff, I just don't know where to begin. Is there a list??

I know what you mean, but honestly, I do spring clean...I just move all the furniture and clean behind and under it, clean all the ceiling fans, move the fridge and stove, just all the stuff that normally doesn't get done on the regular cleaning. I think of spring cleaning as more of a deep clean for the house. Take one room a day and you won't feel overwhelmed by it. |

I'm with you, Cathy. Not only does moving the stove and fridge sound like a lot of work, it might scare me half to death. I've heard stories... |

ok, my hubby moves them for me, but they do get moved twice a year and cleaned behind and under. It amazes me the amount of dust and crud that can build up under those two things!!! |

your right McGlory, it can be scary! I remember when we first moved in this house (we rent it), the first thing I did was clean everything in sight. I swear the fridge and stove had never been moved, it was gross!!! |

I get dizzy on ladders, someone else will have to do the ceiling fans. Maybe I should call a cleaning company? I did empty out all the bathroom cabinets and pitched a ton of stuff. Maybe I'll go back in there and do some more. If the sun ever comes out, I'm outta here! |

I couldn't have said it better, I really don't mind weed pulling in the spring, I use lots of mulches and don't get many anymore. One spring weeding and then spot weeding now and then. My yard isn't very big, but I want to play outside, not clean! |

Um, if you could see the family room floor, it isn't that far from the truth. The back door comes in there and the dog and my husband have been tracking in mud and I've been potting things up in here since it is raining. I vac every day but you can't tell, lol. My mother would faint! |

Spring cleaning? What spring cleaning? I did it all during those dark, dreary days called winter frost, Zone 7/8. I'm done. I can go outside and play.
Fortunately, my DH helps out, bless his heart. I was raised in a home where everything had a place and dust was unheard of. To me, it was a cold sterile place that can be compared to a clinic or something along those lines. Believe it or not, a little random clutter here and there makes me feel more content.
Odd? Probably, but after watching Mom clean DAILY for all those years, I decided I wanted to do other things with my alloted time on earth.
I love to garden and that's what spring is for. Spring cleaning, my eye. I am one of those who would rather paint a wall than scrub it. When I purchased the house, oh, say about two years ago, I went through it with a fine toothed comb. One of the things I did was to replace the walls in the bathroom to rid my home of the germs that were PC, that's pre-closing. No way did I want to inherit those.
The one thing I need to do is the wallboards in the kitchen and I am seriously thinking of having those replaced. A few years ago I had a really bad fall and getting down there on my hands and knees hurts
I've learned about cleaning wall boards is with the mister we use in gardening; its great for spraying them and wiping them down with a Lysol or Clorox wipe.
