I got a gallon size of this a couple of days ago from monrovia growers. I love the look of it, and have a number of spots that I can plant this in the ground. I know this is invasive, but how invasive? I am pretty hands-on poking around in the backyard atleast once a day. Can this be kept in control, if you are on top of it making sure it is not spreading too much?
I have read of people planting running bamboo and after a few years of ignoring it, having problems getting rid of it.
Should I think of using root barriers? I do not want to buy a huge roll of this, is there something similar that I can buy in Homedepot or something that I can use as a root barrier? I do not like the look of planting the container in the ground.
Is Sasa Pygmaea the same as fern-leaf bamboo, the leaves look different?
thanks,
xman
