Hi. I have pine floors at my beach house. I noticed that the finish had worn off of the floor in the kitchen area and cracks between the planks were filling up with dirt, etc. I decided it was time to have the floors refinished so I hired a professional.
The result is that the floor finish looks beautiful, however, there are still open cracks between planks, and now, they are throughout the house. It appears that the planks had a filler between them and when the floor was sanded all of the filler was removed. The finish was put on, but there are open gaps between over 100 of the planks.
Is this normal, or did I get a bad refinish job? I would like to work with the professional to have this corrected, but I need to know how to talk to him. He doesn't see a problem.
