As long as they aren't poisonous, I have no problem with sharing my garden with snakes. I have an approximately 2 to 2 1/2-foot long ribbon (garter) snake that has decided to take up residence in my compost box this year. The first time I added compost material, it scurried out the bottom. But since then, it will wriggle around but basically hold it's ground. I just can't send my grandson out to add the compost anymore--LOL--he's scared to death of snakes! Thanks for trying to educate folks on how beneficial snakes are.
