Our bulb garden just started blooming this past week. We planted just a few new bulbs and then hoped some daffs from past years would come back. Not so many returned--probably because I cut back foliage too early and we water these gardens in summertime--but enough came back and were newly planted to make a nice jaunty garden along the walkway. This is our first 'wave' of daffs--mostly cultivars bred to bloom early with some hyacinths and the pansies (from the store).
We have some fancier daffs that may bloom in a couple of weeks--those are mostly white daffs to compliment the azaleas. I consider that our second wave. We don't 'do' tulips because the critters love them. I did plant about 200 muscari, but it looks like only 50 or so came up. Critters, again, I think. (Ignore the drought killed spruces in the pics--we are working on getting these replaced.)
Does anyone else have pics of their bulb gardens?! Let's see some others!
