I ordered a pair of pots from Bonsai Monk. One is ceramic and the other a mica pot. The mica pot is nice looking, a dark brown, matt finish drum with nail head style trim. While it is physically very light, it has a nice solid visual appearance. The price was also quite good compared to ceramic pots.

I really prefer ceramic pots or terra cotta over any plastic, however the mica pots are probably the way I will go for first pots for most of my plants. I can afford to purchase them in multiples while I acquire my ceramic pots one by expensive one.

I have been playing with some low fire clay producing pinch pots that are well sized for accent pots. I have not fired any due to the really low cone number of the clay. I have to get up to Atlanta and pick up carton of cone 6 or higher before it is worth my time to fire any thing.

Is anyone else interested in producing their own pots?

Beth
