Ok, these little guys showed up about the same time as my onion monster problem.
The first bug I had a question about seems to have disappeared. Unfortunatly these little monsters have shown up in full force in place of them.

They are soft bodied, easily squashed with the brush of a finger. They seem to be most active at night.
They like unfinished plywood surfaces, though I don't think they are eating the wood. They swarm around tiny bits of food.
I find them outside, and in.
I live on a sailboat. I have the tip of a pencil in the picture for scale.

It's seem to me that they are Collembola (springtails) because their small size. They feed on decomposition matter.
