I remember growing up in N. MN and harvesting morels every spring. We would dry all we did not eat immediately.

It was fun to surprise dinner guests with them with a late fall or winter meal. Meat was usually something fresh - rabbit, duck, goose. Lots of game available 15 miles from the nearest town.

Step-dad canned in tin, so often sent quart cans of dried to friends and relatives for Christmas.

That's pretty neat Bubba. I have run these through the food dehydrator before and the smell in the house is intoxicating!!

No dehydrator in the late '40's early '50's - newspapers spread out in the sun, under a nylon screen to keep out the bugs and debris.

I've read also to string them like hot peppers. Alas, in the past few years I don't have enough to even consider more than a few meals.
