First the freeze, then the drought, now many of my otherwise happy JM's are eaten up with aphids. All red-leafed, mainly dissectum and other delicate-leafed varieties. My local nursery guy says they are "black" aphids and recommended Organicide, which has sesame oil as the active ingredient. He thinks the usual pesticides are too harsh for JMs. I googled the topic last night and learned about oils, chemicals, ladybugs., etc. I've never had this problem in 6 years and assume the freeze and drought stress had something to do with it. I know this is not supposed to be a serious problem but it sure makes for ugly, stunted leaves. Anyone with any good personal experience or advice?
