This is a question for someone who knows about mattresses and box springs. I'll try and make a long story as brief as possible.
We bought a mattress and box spring set about a year or two ago from a company we trust, replacing the previous set we had from them (9 years old). This was still quite comfortable and we have put it in the spare room. I had forgotten that the original set had a shorter box spring to compensate for our high bed so we switched the two box springs. Now our bed (with the newer mattress and older box spring) is beginning to sag a little in the middle and I think that getting a new box spring base will be the answer. The problem is that the mattress company is some distance away, we are not able to collect it ourselves and it will cost a lot to have it delivered.
My question is - Is the quality of the box spring as vital as the mattress itself? I would of course try and get an equally good box spring locally, but wouldn't know whether another company would be as good.
