blueish-green thin bladed almost like tiny blades of fine grass, feathery. any ideas as to which one it is ? My label washed off so i am clueless.

lady bird poppies can start like that but others too. Maybe post what varieties you planted and it can be narrowed down?

um ......
LadyBird
Red Oriental
Coral oriental
Shirley poppies, various mixes
flaunders
corn poppies
one or two others that I just can't think of right now.

At first, most of my poppy seedlings look kind of like tiny grass, but you can tell a little more when true leaves start growing. This may help some; most of the seedlings here are Shirley Poppies, and if you look closely you can see a few that have a blue-ish cast and those are P.somniferum.

these are now ferny looking and very blueish tint. I had markers in with the name written but apparently my choice in markers was poor. it has worn off already.

That kind of sounds like California Poppies. Do you recall sowing any of those?

(Zone 6a)

oh yeah, I sowed every variety I could get my hands on.
