I can't believe my eyes. I purchased a plant named lion's ear last fall from my favorite plant place, Cedar Creek Gallery. It is a world known center for hand made pottery by potters from all over the world. It has won many awards for its pottery and blown glass. Not many people know about its wonderful and sometimes very unusual plants..The grounds are beautiful with many trails through the woods and seating places to sit and enjoy the wonderful plant and animal life(sometimes statues of the real thing). The person responsible for all the great plant life there is John Martin. He has transformed Cedar Creek into a dream come true to any plant lover. He doesn't have row upon row of mass produced plants, but many different and unusual plants for the area, which brings me to the point. The lion's ear plant that I purchased and that has thrived in my yard (including the winter) is being grown in zone 7! John gets plants to live and grow that are not even for our zone. Hope to see it bloom soon. doofy1
