We've continuing our Daily pics here, from this thread
[HYPERLINK@davesgarden.com]
We're just one thread away, before we reach the big100!!!

Was out to look at the Falls today, they are roaring with rushing water, from this Spring thaw. Usually the gulls are around at that time, so got a few pics of them.

Your all welcome.
Nanegoat that woodcock, will probably be my first and last time seeing him. They are seldom seen in daytime, because they're nocturnal and they blend so well in the wood land, that it's almost impossible to see, according to what I've learned about them.
Resin, Nice bird, Don't think I'll ever see one of those either.
Mrs-Ed thanks for linking the old thread to this one.

(ref. the pelicans on thread Daily Pics 98) - Yep, all crime is illegal, but that doesn't stop it happening! Those who profit from fishing facilities have all too frequently been involved in the illegal persecution of fish-eating birds like cormorants and pelicans. For a similar severe problem here, see e.g. this link: [HYPERLINK@www.birdguides.com]

Great time of year for birdwatching. Been enjoying all the birds coming in to eat. I just got up to refill my coffee and saw 8 wood ducks coming up on the shore. (only seen them in the water or in trees before) One male was cking out a robin, before I got the camera on them.
Here are 3 of them. (the others were behind the bushes.

The Baltimore Oriole's are back and are they drop dead gorgeous!! I managed to get some pics but will have to post later. There were at least 5 males and 1 female (lucky girl)! They are so lovely I could cry!! Now I have to get back to my boring work!!!

p.s. The little Indigo Bunting is still around and seems to have made himself at home...I'm still watching for females (he probably is too)!!

Glad to hear you saw a female Indigo Rose. My Buntings have been showing up here every winter/spring for 3 or 4 years now. Whether they are the same birds I don't know...but once they find a good location I'm sure word gets around. This is the first year I have had so many Goldfinch joining them. And it seems when I have Indigos there are usually Painted Buntings with them. There are still some hanging around, they seem reluctant to leave. That's true about the Yellow-Rumps, they hardly every stay still more than a second!

Wow, I missed all of volumn 98. I'll enjoy looking at it later. Love your pics. Rose, that oriole is so pretty! Great shot. I don't have any pics today. I'm just posting so your photos will show up in my updated threads!

My parents are still visiting. My mother and I were out on the patio again and this time a Rose-breasted Grosbeak showed up! I managed to get two worthless shots. I haven't seen the Indigo Bunting again, but y'all were right. I'm just looking for him everywhere!

adelbert, I just wish we had Orioles, lol, they are gorgeous! Nice shots Rose!

I had two female House Sparrows fighting today, dull again but I got some shots. One seemed to be getting the better of the other, as I approached they went across the garden then flew off when I got closer. I guess it's the territorial thing, only one dominant female allowed. The male came up to have a brief look.

What a striking color on that Oriole Rose. Yes new birds arriving almost every day, and it's so nice. And the weather is super nice also. My pond is still covered in snow, but we're starting to see the side of it now. A few more warm days, and everything will be gone.
OP, I'm glad I went back and corrected my mistake, on that Sparrow, otherwise you would have called it a white-crown sparrow, instead of a white-throated sparrow. Resin is the one to be thanked.
GP, I'm so happy for you on your Cedar Waxwings, Hope they continue coming for you also. What kind of fruits are they attracted too in your yard? I will go look at your thread on them. Nice pic of the catbird too.
GM great looking chickadee and nice feeder.

The Waxwings were around in the winter for the berries on my Holly tree (they stripped it one day while I was at work). Now they are after the ripe berries on the Florida Privet, which has become a small tree. I have one in the frontyard and one in the backyard. The Mockingbirds and Catbirds also love the berries my Firebush gets. I am so glad I have things the birds love!

Today...Snow likely in the morning...then a chance of rain or snow showers in the afternoon. Snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches. Highs 35 to 40. Northwest winds 15 to 20 mph. Chance of precipitation 70 percent.

Somebody just told me that the forecast actually calls for 12 inches of snow today. I don't believe that. Although, north of here about an hour and a half, they got 12 inches overnight! Sigh.

The dog, god love her, doesn't seem to care. She does love the warm sunshine though.

I feel for you sybil. Those snow pictures are bad. Our snow is finally gone, but it took 4 weeks of above freezing temps. Then it suddenly turned summer. Now even our plants are too smart for that, but when it went on for 3 weeks, everything started to really pop.
Now back to winter, snow predicted and this morning it was in the 20's. I think we probably will have some damage out there for sure.

Poor baby birdies. I think they are just ready to hatch!
