I have a two storey "cookie cutter" house that is all white siding with burgundy trim around two top windows and the big front window. The gutters are also burgundy, as well as the front porch deck boards. My front door is white and I finding it really hard to find a colour that complements those two colours! I was just going to give up and get a solid wood door...but thought I'd see if anyone has any ideas for paint first! Thanx
You could match the trim and go with burgundy, or you could go with a dark green and I think that would look good. I'd stay away from red, orange, yellow, and purple and I'd make sure it's something dark (not pastel). Or wood would look nice as well. If you want to play around with colors, some of the paint companies have websites that let you play around with color combinations so you can try a few things out and see what appeals to you.
I painted our door that shade and it looks good. It blends well on the outside with the cream paint and plants. On the inside, the door looks good with our textured mediterranean-style color scheme. In the photo, the dark green wall is the same as the door (which can't be seen).
