DH, dear sweet patient man that he is, makes so few requests of me in the gardening-and-cooking departments that I try to indulge him whenever he does. Well, he'd really love to try some homemade sausage (Dann_L, if you're reading this, it was my glowing reports of your homemade brats at the swap that set him off! ☺). I have no equipment (like a stuffer or grinder attachment for my Kitchenaide mixer), and no recipes, and for healthy-eating reasons, would like to keep this to reasonably low-fat.
Does anyone have any suggestions of places to start with my limited resources? Can I just make a sausage-seasoned meat mixture into patties, for grilling or pan-frying?
Thanks for help!
