Both my daughter and I have an interest in succulents and have not had a super great success in growing them. We are learning however, and know some of our mistakes now.
Recently we bought a shallow pot for some cacti we have at a nursery and the young man there voluntered to drill holes for the pot. He did warn us that the holes are not "pretty", but we were trilled to have it done. The pot has worked out great for my daughters cacti.
