                        Sunshine Tree   (Senna surattensis)

Also:   Scrambled Egg Tree, Glossy Shower, Singapore Shower
                        and Glaucous Cassia.
Syn:  Cassia surattensis, Cassia suffruticosa,
                        or Cassia surattensis var. suffruticosa.
PF info, see:  [HYPERLINK@davesgarden.com] .

This small subtropical shrub produces intense blooms of bright yellow flowers year-round, even throughout the winter.  It's foliage is evergreen and its growth rate is moderate.  A mature height and spread is 15'-20’ x 15'-20’.  It can be pruned to create an outstanding small tree making it ideal as an accent for small landscapes.  It will take drought and can stand short frosts. Blooms are followed by brown seed pods (fruit).  Its flowers will attract butterflies.  Hardy in USDA zones 8b-11.

The source plant for these seeds, shown here, is allowed to simply bush out every year - - the owner severly cuts these back to 2 feet in early February (zone 8b) to keep the height under 15'.

Gently scarify (nick) the outer coating of each seed and soak 18-24 hrs. in water prior to sewing at a depth of approx. 1 cm  (3/16 inch).

AVAILABLE NOW - - packets of approx. 100 seeds
For trades or for an SAE with at least 59˘ in LOOSE postage stamps (U.S. postage only) . . . Please do not affix the stamps to your self-addressed envelope.  My thanks in advance for that favour.   ;--)

If you participate in the DG address exchange, here's a link to my postal info =>   [HYPERLINK@davesgarden.com] - - No need to reserve seeds with a D-Mail - - unless you want to trade.  If you just want me to put some into the wind to you, just send your SAE and postage.

If you are not in the address exchange, send me a D-Mail to reserve seeds and receive my postal info.  If you are outside the U.S. and use PayPal , contact me - we can work something out regarding the postage.
