I bought a bare rooted thornless blackberry online, I put it in a pot with some good potting soil and It's been about a week. I haven't seen any growth, and I think I killed it. Any suggestions?

When I bought my bare-rooted thornless blackberries they took a little while to leaf out in the spring. I did lose one small one but the other 5 made it just fine. A week really isn't very long--I'd give it more time. Also, where do you have the pot sitting? Blackberries need full sun.

I bought six bare-root thornless plants this spring. They've been in the ground (lasagna bed) for several weeks now. Two have put out new leaves on the cutting. When I dug up two of the others because I couldn't stand not knowing, I found they were both growing new sprouts under there. So, I think you just need more time.

I've got the pot on the end of my patio which is full sun most of the day. it gets a few hours of shade in the morning and sun the rest of the day. I trimmed a little off the top of the stick, I realized I didn't trim enough off and it's still green so I'm gonna take your advice and wait it out. thanks. (I hope I didn't kill it)

how wet should I keep this thing? I was watering it every day and then I got worried that I would drown it (the potting soil was still wet when checked it) so I cut back to every other day. I'm just not sure how wet I've got to keep this little bugger. not to mention, will the roots gro through the pot before I see any leaves?

I was going to post a very similar question about blackberry care today! Just last night I received 20 thornless blackberries which are only a few inches high. There might be a leaf or two, but basically they look like little sticks. They appeared rootbound, so I repotted them into 5oz plastic cups with drainage holes. I've got them sitting on my windowsill, but am wondering if I should put them under lights. I watered them from below, but don't know if I should let the pot dry out before watering again or if I should keep them evenly moist.

Curious how long they will take to put on new growth. Good luck bunnygarden!
