Each year the Ag Extention Office and the 4H team up to sponsor a plant swap and give away heirloom tomato plants in our town. It is growing and becoming a nice little program. The local bee keepers organization was getting the word out about their work. The forestry department was there handing out info and giving away black walnut seedlings. The 4H has a nice green house and was selling plants. We bought some orange and yellow bell peppers and some musk melons. We got 27 tomato plants. Not all of them had tags so I don't know what they all are. I do know 14 of them so I was careful to write those down and draw their location on my garden map. I want to save seeds this year so that information is very important. The ones I know are : Money Maker, Flame Hillbilly, Copia, Yellow Mortgage Lifter, German Johnson, Mortgage Lifter, and Siberian. I also know that at least 2 of the unidentified plants are Brandywine. I got 16 of the tomatoes planted. I still need to get 3 more cages. Click the image for an enlarged view.
