I hope this is the proper place to post this request. My neighbor Jeannie always tended her yard until she got sick a couple of years ago, then died last week. So, a few of us in the neighborhood thought it fitting to create a memory garden for her using plants with the names of Jean, Jeanne, and Remember.
We have ordered a white flowering dogwood named Jean's Appalachian Snow as the center focus and are looking for flowers and other small plants to group around it. The area for the garden has afternoon and evening shade. The soil is sand-clay mix, to be amended with leaf and manure compost, then mulched with shredded leaves.
We have not found any plants for purchase locally with a Jeane cultivar. I have posted the plants I have found in the PlantFiles on my Trade List, and sent out a few D-mails requesting the plants found on the Trade List of others with no responses. I don't have much of anything on my Trade List to trade with, other than plants that some may consider weeds.
Most of the nurseries are out of stock, or out of season, for these plants. Please let me know how to go about trading for these plants so as not to offend anyone, or break any DG policies. If anyone could tell me where to purchase or trade for these plants, I would be so very grateful!
Thanks for any help,
Sundownr
