My DH thoughtfully planted a bag of I. reticulata with bearded iris - shouldn't irises go together, he thought? Next year, I planted some where they could be appreciated in their delicacy - he said "there are these things growing in the wall garden, and they look like tiny irises!!" I love those tiny gems, and they always come along just when we need them most.
