Thanks for the ID. I'm not use to having these beautiful native/wild plants in the woods. Now I can log them in correctly for future reference. I'm going to assume the bloom time is short, no one else we know living around here can seem to recall them. Beautiful & fragrant, a pleasant surprise, thanks.

Definitely a tree to treasure; a mature Fringetree in full bloom is quite a spectacle.

Does anyone know if these can be grown in fairly close proximity to a house (5 feet out or so)??

I don't know if their roots have the potential to be problematic or not, but they can definitely get wider spreading than that, so 5 ft sounds a bit close to me, I'd plant it a little farther out so it has room to spread out without hitting the house.

I just purchased one of these and am trying to decide on the perfect location for it.
