Yesterday I noticed three of these trees growing at the edge of the woods on my North Mississippi property. The branches were to high for me to reach so I could get a leaf or flowers, or even a close-up photo. The leaves were definitely bipinnately compound and the flowers were pinkish-lavender. This was a pretty good sized tree - maybe 30 ft. or taller.  Click the image for an enlarged view.

Yes, that's a Chinaberry! Spring bloom time is when it really appeals to me...despite how invasive it can be in natural areas. |
