Here's one for you. What bird makes a loud cricket-type call?
Heard it a couple of times but can't find the bird.

The Blackbirds can do that. So can the Grackles...I had one hanging around one summer that could imitate the squeaky clothes line sound. |

My chipping sparrows sound like crickets too..drove me crazy where the sound was coming from..hubby spotted them on the patio and sure enough it was them..lol...not saying thats positively what your crickety sounding birds are tho... |

I've checked both calls on the cornell site. Possibly a grackle, but not sure. I'll look next time I hear it.

Hope you can get a look at it..its probably a grackle then...chippers make more of a buzz..lol..not crickety at all once I thought about it... |
