It was an overcast day, with steady rain forecasted, and they were looking pretty crowded in their containers. Funny, though, as big as they looked in their jugs and bottles, they looked awfully tiny when I got them in the ground in my butterfly garden! I sure hope they take off! I planted out:
Swamp milkweed (Ice Ballet)--Critter, did I tell you it did sprout shortly after our conversation about it?
Anise
Ox-Eye Orange Sunflower
Bronze Fennel
Agastache "Honey Bee White"--lots!
Lupine Russell Hybrids Mix
Next year, I'll definitely do more milk jugs, and scrap the individual water bottles. They were so hard to get the seedlings out of, and were really sharp when I tried cutting the bottles off to free the roots that were twined in the ridges in the bottoms!
I also got my cucumbers planted, and the veggie garden tilled, so it was a very productive morning!
