Can someone please help me. Last year I bout several pots of wave petunias. I planted them outside and they came back this year and are bigger and more beautiful than they were last year. The only problem is that every where I look, I am reading that they are annuals?? I am very confused. here are some pics.

Petunias are annuals but they reseed themselves. But I think "Wave" petunias are hybrids, so what you have is no longer truly a "Wave" petunia... but they look nice and they're free, so I'd keep them :)

Actually, many Petunias are perennials (like P. integrifolia) including many of the new hybrids. I have several in my yard that come back from the root every year. I know which ones are coming back from the root because the root and the stalk coming from the ground get bigger each year. My Calibrachoas, which are related to Petunias, have also been coming back for a few years, even in pots! Many plants that we call annuals are truly just tender perennials.

I am in zone 9 and each year I plant petunias in the late fall for winter and each spring they have reseeded and are in bloom again...of course they don't last long as our heat has hit already.
