Memorial Day is the traditional time to set out tomatoes plants here on the central Connecticut coast (6b). Last year I put some out May 15th but most on the last two days of the month.

The ones below were set out last Tuesday and Wednesday (May 6th & 7th). Tommorow night is problematic with a predicted low of 41. After that, it appears to be clear sailing. If the days to maturity is correct, I will have the first ripe tomato on June 27th at 5:13 PM.

What experiences have you had in pushing the zone? Good enough to try every year? Something you never do? Or in between?

Left to right below: Matina (2), Early Girl, Jaune Flammee, Cuostralee, Box Car Willie, Pink Ping Pong, Druzba, Marizol Purple, Better Boy, Akers West Virginia
