Is this from seed, or are there plants available? I am an avid edible landscape gardener and am starting some toon from seed (it's supposed to be "red" or "purple", but who knows what that means). My sources say the red varieties are the preferred types for eating in China. I've never had it (to eat, that is) but that hasn't stopped me from trying to grow some. One thing I've noticed right off is that the soaked seed has a very pronounced garlicky aroma. Any sign of that in the mature trees?
