This guy brightened up my bird feeder last year...and now he's back! (Okay, well, maybe it's not the same one, but I like to think it is.) I had never seen an indigo bunting until one appeared last year. I love having him around!

Kayly, That's great! What's in your feeder, I wonder??

It's just a songbird mix with some sunflower and safflower seeds. Nothing special, really. But the birds seem to like it. And the goldfinches mob the thistle feeder.

I'm sure some people see indigo buntings all the time, but I saw this fellow only on a few occasions last year. I was hoping he would come back, and I was so excited when I saw him today. I'll have to research what indigo buntings like to eat and cater to his tastes a little. :)

What are the chances of telling that bird he needs to come to North Carolina. He/she is a beauty. And he/she would go great with my red birds.
My bird feeders have been full all winter and spring here at the coast. I have very few birds in Raleigh,NC.

Yes, I agree. Those indigo buntings are real beauties. And I've only seen them a few times here during migration.
