Yep, but it is an inflorescence, made up of thousands of small flowers, not one huge one.

| Its a parasitic epiphyte I think. Relies on one particular species of vine & uses rats to disperse seeds. |

| The thing about growing them is you need the vine it grows on Pinger. I can't remember its name but the arnoldii depends on it. Scientists are trying to figure how it manages to get seeds to other vines via rats. Its seems like a one in a million but it works. |

| yep, Rafflesia. I have seen stinky plant, or amorphophallus titanum and you are right about the little bitty flowers down inside. Though the infloresence gets huge. Four years ago, I went down to UConn to see theirs just as it had bloomed. They had a webcam on it. Boy was it stinky! and this was the day after it bloomed. you could still smell it.

| I got to see a Amorphophallus titanium in flower back around 1986 or so.
1. The flower was huge, like 3 feet tall.
2. The flower stinks and makes a skunk smell good.
3. The darn thing makes me want to own one, but up here, they are green house plants.
4. A DGer buddy bought A. konjac, and gave me one. Now there are 2 Dracunculus vulgaris in the garden along with it.
5. Now I want a Rafflesia arnoldii, too!
