I really enjoyed your artricle. I am into organic gardening also. I use alfalfa meal for my roses. I applied a handful once a month around each rose. Is this the correct amount?

Yes, but stop one month before your rose will finish bloom. You don't want a whole lot of beautiful, tender new growth to freeze in a sudden cold snap as we can have in the South.

Thank you Glynis for answering my question. Beautiful cool morning here for working in the garden.
