Garden will be so unique! Of course we'll all be waiting patiently for a glimpse from time to time of your garden as it grows...

On Friday while in town I stopped into several nurseries seeking out seeds for you but did not find any, so I too am on a mission...

    I'm with Betty...I can't wait!

Next year on the anniversary of your Rose Racer event you should send some of those blooms to that nice police officer! :-)

yeah Shar (Rose Racer) you just wanna charm all the cops in town so you can tear up those roads! Then again who knows what favors may come from good timing and great flowers...

It's a great idea. I had a similar idea for deep earth tones in a bed of their own based around one iris, a multicolor plicata: SPOOKY from keppel. I love the idea of blacks & silver and pink. GOOD LUCK!

Oooooh, I LIKE that idea. I'd steal it if I had any artistic ability at all, but since I can't even arrange a single rose in a vase, let alone design a garden, I'll just wait impatiently to see pictures. GOOD LUCK!

    You all are too funny!
Now that I am outside much of the time, I see my Road Racer buddy circling the block often. He drives really really slow, then he waves. Nice man.

Oh, and I am trying to use Lady X as my centerpiece rose, but it seems to have weak stems, and the blooms are too heavy for the stems. I was too anxious to get started and didn't do enough research when I settled for her, I think. We all might have to wait till next year while this story continues.

    Thank you!

There's a botanical garden near here that uses trimmed tree branches - the smaller branchy ones - to support heavy blooms; looks pretty.

One day soon I'm going to plant a 'chocolate' garden, and I've starting looking for plants named after Christmas since my DH puts up about 35,000 Christmas lights each winter (that number is not and exageration!)

Nice article, Sharon. I love black in the garden as a foil. Looks great on its own and makes the neighbors pop.

Thanks, Victor. I sure hope this works, but am afraid it will be another spring before I can tell for sure.

Black flowers make my neighbors pop, too. They say, "What the heck is that?"
A man asked me last week, "Are those BLACK tulips?" When i said yes, he said, "What, are you in mourning? Did somebody die?"

Then again, i'd like to pop some of my neighbors...
